Why Zócalo

¡Juntos por la salud!

We believe that by prioritizing wellness for our community, we all grow stronger together.

As children, our founders, Erik Cardenas and Mariza Hardin, each witnessed the lack of access to quality health care in their comunidades — and it inspired them to build a better way. A way that’s by Latinos, for Latinos. A way that tells our stories and celebrates our culture. A way that combines spiritual practices with modern medicine and the technology of today.

Hear from our members

Zócalo actually reached out and helped. They asked, “Do you need us to help fill out an application?” No one’s ever said that. I don’t know how to say it in another language, but I don’t know how to fill out an application. Zócalo understood that process.

My promotora de salud is very kind and patient. I'm a question person, so I always apologize that I have to ask all these questions. And she’s like, “No, you're good. We have the time.”

You guys have been giving me all the help. If I have a question about food, my promotora is on top of it to give me different resources. Also with finding diapers for my child, she’s so helpful.
